About the Direct Payment Holder	S is a very energetic 10 year old boy, who enjoys being outside, running, exploring and seeks a lot of sensory input. S has a diagnosis of autism and is pre-verbal. Due to communication difficulties, S can display some challenging behaviours. S requires 2:1 support.
Hours and rate of pay hours	Two PA’s required for 2:1 Support – £14.00 per hour – 30 hours to be used flexibly during the school holidays.
Location	Eddington, CB3 area
DBS/Checks	Confirmation of DBS check Right to Work and references will be needed.
What you would be doing…	Support S around the home and out in the community, visiting the park or participating in other activities. Helping S to broaden his interests and allow him to socialise with young people in a supportive and structured environment. Supporting S during mealtimes and assisting with other personal care needs, including toileting and nappy changes.
Required skills and experience	Knowledge/Experience of working with children with autism. It is very important that you are reliable, have good timekeeping and strong communication skills. A bubbly personality, a good sense of humour, and a kind and caring nature, active and willing to be in interactive Driving License and use of own car is desirable (Car insurance with business use is a mandatory requirement).

About the service user	I am a 47 year old mother of 3 who lives with a Functional Neurological Disorder which affects me in a number of ways, chronic pain, tremors, drop attacks & sensitivity to light, the condition is exacerbated by heat. My children and I share our home with a large dog (Cane Corso) Prior to my diagnosis I enjoyed running marathons & reading.
Hours and rate of Pay	4hrs per week – day to be discussed Maximum rate £19.20 per hour Enhanced DBS clearance is essential & evidence of self employed registration & Public Liability Insurance is also required.
What you would be doing…	Supporting me to maintain the home environment, every day chores such as hoovering, laundry, loading/unloading dishwasher, cleaning surfaces/bathroom. Supporting me with batch cooking from scratch, nutritious meals for freezing.

You should be active and happy to get involved in the things J enjoys, and having similar interests would be a plus. What you would be doing…	Supporting F with independence skills accessing activities he enjoys such as going to the park. Supporting F’s mum when in the community with F. F can display some challenging behaviours, he can become aggressive, you will need to learn the triggers for these behaviours and coping mechanisms to deal with the different situations.
The person I would like…	Experience of supporting other young people with similar diagnosis is essential. L also loves being outside going for long riverside walks, feeding the ducks or going to the park to run around and play on the swings.
Hours and rate of Pay	Flexible hours to be used after school & weekends approximately 7 hours per month – paid at £13.00 per hour. Enhanced DBS clearance is essential
What you would be doing…	Supporting L to access the community with another trusted adult to engage in activities she enjoys. Developing road safety skills and general safety when out and about as well as some money management skills. L manages the toilet independently though she sometimes needs prompting.
The person I would like…	It is essential you have experience of supporting other young people with Autism & ADHD and have an awareness of the behaviour challenges the conditions can bring. Someone who is kind, patient and understanding who can communicate clear boundaries. Good timekeeping is important as L responds well to routine. L needs constant supervision, you will need to be alert & quick thinking in order to keep her safe. L does sometimes run, this is usually if she is scared or not comfortable in a situation, you will learn triggers for this behaviour. About the Direct Payment Holder	A family in Letchworth is seeking a calm, patient and confident Care Assistant to support their son, who has just turned 11 years old. He has diagnoses of autism and ADHD and is physically fit and healthy. He is verbal, using short sentences, and can usually make his wants and needs known. He is generally a happy and energetic boy, though he can be challenging at times and has no sense of danger. He enjoys being outdoors, swimming, trampolining (including using a trampoline at home), climbing, visiting parks, and going out in the car. He also enjoys cafes (especially cake!), petting farms, bowling, and watching familiar TV programmes such as Andy’s Prehistoric Adventures, Gigglebiz and Postman Pat. He can be tactile with people he knows well, on his own terms. He dislikes sudden loud noises (such as shouting) and loud singing,but enjoys singing along to familiar nursery rhymes and children’s TV songs. He uses stimming behaviours such as clapping and vocal noises to regulate himself, particularly in busy or unfamiliar environments.
