Hours and rate of pay  hours Two PA’s required for 2:1 Support – £14.00 per hour – 30 hours to be used flexibly during the school holidays.

What you would be doing… Support S around the home and out in the community, visiting the park or participating in other activities. Helping S to broaden his interests and allow him to socialise with young people in a supportive and structured environment. Supporting S during mealtimes and assisting with other personal care needs, including toileting and nappy changes.
Required skills and experience Knowledge/Experience of working with children with autism. It is very important that you are reliable, have good timekeeping and strong communication skills. A bubbly personality, a good sense of humour, and a kind and caring nature, active and willing to be in interactive Driving License and use of own car is desirable (Car insurance with business use is a mandatory requirement).

About the service user I am a 47 year old mother of 3 who lives with a Functional Neurological Disorder which affects me in a number of ways, chronic pain, tremors, drop attacks & sensitivity to light, the condition is exacerbated by heat.   My children and I share our home with a large dog (Cane Corso)   Prior to my diagnosis I enjoyed running marathons & reading.

He has diagnoses of autism and ADHD and is physically fit and healthy. He is verbal, using short sentences, and can usually make his wants and needs known. He is generally a happy and energetic boy, though he can be challenging at times and has no sense of danger. He enjoys being outdoors, swimming, trampolining (including using a trampoline at home), climbing, visiting parks, and going out in the car. He also enjoys cafes (especially cake!), petting farms, bowling, and watching familiar TV programmes such as Andy’s Prehistoric Adventures, Gigglebiz and Postman Pat. He can be tactile with people he knows well, on his own terms. He dislikes sudden loud noises (such as shouting) and loud singing,but enjoys singing along to familiar nursery rhymes and children’s TV songs. He uses stimming behaviours such as clapping and vocal noises to regulate himself, particularly in busy or unfamiliar environments.
