About the Direct Payment Holder   The client is an 8-year-old boy who is neurodiverse and has been diagnosed with autism. He has sensory needs and requires support with social communication and interaction. He is shy and reserved and benefits from calm, one-to-one support. He enjoys active, fun, and engaging activities and needs encouragement to build confidence and develop social skills within the community.  
Hours and rate of pay Hours: 2 hours per week Days: 1 day per week, preferably Saturdays Rate of Pay: £18.92 per hour  
Location St Albans (AL1)
DBS/Checks Confirmation of DBS check Right to Work and references will be needed.
Training Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required: • Safeguarding Children • Introduction to first aid / Paediatric first aid • Health and Safety / Moving and handling  
What you would be doing…   The Personal Assistant (PA) will support Josiah by taking him out into the community to engage in fun, interactive, and confidence-building activities. These may include swimming, rock climbing, trampolining, and other age-appropriate social activities. The focus of the role is to help Josiah develop social skills, independence, and positive experiences in community settings. There are no personal care tasks involved in this role.
Required skills and experience Experience working with young children in any capacity Experience or knowledge of working with children with additional needs (including autism) A valid First Aid qualification Patient, friendly, and understanding approach Active and enthusiastic, with an interest in fun and engaging activities Male PA preferred This advert complies with the Sex Discrimination Act (1975) Section 7 (2b).
