| About the Person You Will Support: | We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate and reliable female Personal Assistant to support a cheerful and bubbly secondary school-aged girl with autism and a learning disability. The support will help her with daily routines, personal care, community access and meaningful activities, while promoting her comfort, dignity and independence. |
| Key Responsibilities: | The Personal Assistant will provide practical and personal support, including assistance with dressing, personal care, hair care and physiotherapy exercises. The role will also involve supporting transfers into a wheelchair when out in the community, helping with community access where required, providing companionship and meaningful activities, and keeping the bedroom and equipment tidy. |
| Requirements: | Applicants must have at least one year of experience supporting children or young people with learning disabilities and/or autism. A full UK driving licence, access to your own car and residence within 30 minutes’ drive of Stevenage are required. The successful applicant must be reliable, flexible and willing to provide occasional weekend support when parents are away. This post is exempt under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010; therefore, a female applicant is required.
