| About the Person You Will Support: | I am a 64-year-old man living in Askern (DN6). Following a stroke in January 2026, I experience aphasia, communication difficulties, and reduced mobility. I use a wheelchair and require support with day-to-day tasks within my home. I enjoy watching sports, spending time with my dogs, and seeing my grandchildren. I can be quite shy initially, so I am looking for a friendly and supportive Personal Assistant who can help me maintain my independence and quality of life. |
| Key Responsibilities: | The role involves supporting me with daily living activities, including preparing and bringing meals, helping me use the television, and supporting me to access my garden and spend time with my dogs. You will also provide companionship and reassurance, assist with toileting needs, and support with transfers using a Molift hoist. |
| Requirements: | The ideal candidate will be reliable, patient, and understanding, with previous care experience. Experience supporting individuals with brain injuries, communication difficulties, or stroke recovery would be beneficial. You should be able to communicate calmly and effectively, provide reassurance when needed, and be comfortable working around two small, friendly dogs. A DBS check, Right to Work documentation, and satisfactory references will be required.
