About the DP Holder Seeking a dedicated, compassionate and reliable female Personal Assistant
(PA) to support a cheerful and bubbly secondary school-aged girl with autism
and a learning disability.
Hours and rate of pay £14 per hour
16 hours per week (potential to increase to 20 hours).
Morning support: 7:00–9:00am
After-school support: 3:00–7:00pm
Some weekend support will also be required when parents are away.
Location Stevenage
DBS / Checks Enhanced DBS, Right to Work checks and two satisfactory references
covering a minimum of two years in a similar role are required.
Training Mandatory training will be provided including Safeguarding Children, Paediatric
First Aid, Health & Safety and Moving & Handling.
Responsibilities • Assist with transfers into wheelchair when out and about in the community
• Support with dressing and personal care
• Assist with hair care and maintenance
• Assist with physiotherapy exercises
• Provide companionship and meaningful activities
• Keep bedroom and equipment tidy
• Support with community access where required
Skills & Essentials Essential:
• Minimum of 1 year of experience supporting children or young people with
learning disabilities and/or autism.
• Full UK driving licence and own car.
• Must live within 30 minutes’ drive of Stevenage.
• Reliable, flexible and willing to provide occasional weekend support when
required.
