About the Person You Will Support:I am an 11-year-old girl living in South Ockendon (RM15). I have a learning disability and complex physical needs, use a wheelchair and rely mainly on my PEG for nutrition and hydration. I am a happy, cheerful young girl who enjoys sensory activities, positive relationships, consistency, familiarity and kindness. I need support with daily living, including personal care, moving and handling, PEG feeding, medication and accessing my local community. I am supported at home, where specialist equipment and adaptations are provided.
Key Responsibilities:Your role will involve supporting me at home and occasionally in the community. You will provide personal care with dignity, respect and compassion, support my morning and evening routines, including preparing me for school transport, and assist with PEG feeding, medication administration and moving and handling following training and competency sign-off. You will also be responsible for the safe use of specialist equipment, including a ceiling hoist, support me to access community activities and planned outings, encourage my independence and participation, and help me engage in activities that are meaningful and enjoyable. Accurate care records will need to be maintained, and you will work closely with my parents and wider support team to provide consistent, person-centred care.
Requirements:We are looking for two Female Personal Assistants to join our small, supportive team, with some double-up support required. You will be kind, compassionate, patient, reliable and trustworthy, with a gentle and reassuring approach. You should be able to work independently, communicate professionally and build a warm, trusted relationship while delivering high-quality, person-centred support. Experience and Qualifications Experience supporting children or adults with additional needs is highly desirable. Previous experience of PEG feeding, medication administration and moving and handling would be advantageous, although full training and competency sign-off will be provided. A driving licence and access to your own vehicle would be beneficial, although local applicants are warmly encouraged to apply. A Message from My Family We are a warm and welcoming family looking for caring Female Personal Assistants to support our daughter with kindness, patience and consistency. This is more than a care role; it is an opportunity to build a genuine, long-term relationship and make a meaningful difference in a young person's life. You will be supporting one child within a fully adapted family home where specialist equipment is provided. If you would like to join a stable, supportive team where your work is valued and truly makes a difference, we would love to hear from you. As some personal care is involved, I would feel more comfortable with a female carer. This advert complies with the Sex Discrimination Act (1975) Section 7(2)(b). Please send your CV, two references and a short covering letter explaining your suitability for the role. Thank you. Sponsorship is not available for this role No agencies please
