| About the Person You Will Support: | The Direct Payment holder is a warm, creative working mum with a great sense of humour who is a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. She values inclusivity, understanding and respect, which shape the way she connects with others. She lives with cerebral palsy, chronic fatigue and chronic pain, and is neurodivergent. These experiences have shaped her perspective and given her a deep appreciation for the right support. She enjoys listening to music, playing computer games, role-playing activities and spending time with her family and pets. She is seeking a friendly, reliable and proactive Personal Assistant to help her maintain her independence and continue participating fully in family life. |
| Key Responsibilities: | You will support the individual with household chores and day-to-day domestic tasks, assist with shopping, errands and putting away deliveries, and support with meal preparation and cooking. You will help with laundry and household organisation, provide pet care for her two cats and tropical fish, and assist with dressing and occasionally showering. You will help her maintain her independence and participate fully in family life, occasionally assist with light gardening and heavier household tasks when required, and use the Family Wall app to keep household information, shopping lists and schedules up to date.You will support the individual with household chores and day-to-day domestic tasks, assist with shopping, errands and putting away deliveries, and support with meal preparation and cooking. | Requirements: | You must be kind, patient, understanding and respectful, reliable, trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality. You should be open-minded with a respectful approach to diversity, proactive and able to use your own initiative while communicating openly when guidance is needed, and organised with willingness to use the Family Wall app. You must be comfortable around children and animals including two cats and tropical fish. A driving licence with access to your own vehicle would be beneficial but is not essential. You will need a valid DBS check, Right to Work documentation and two professional references. As personal care is involved, a female carer is preferred in accordance with the Sex Discrimination Act (1975) Section 7 (2b). |
