Today, events are lighting up nine countries around the world as thousands of disabled people, allies, and advocates join together to celebrate accessibility and inclusion. Purple Tuesday is here and it’s all about coming together to build a world where everyone can participate fully.
#ThinkAccessibility: Embrace, See, and Share Accessibility
This year, we’re asking everyone to think about accessibility in new ways. When we #ThinkAccessibility, we’re not only creating awareness but also encouraging businesses, organisations, and individuals to make inclusive choices in their spaces and services. Share your stories of good practice, highlight places and people making a difference, and help inspire more organisations to adopt accessibility as a priority.
Let’s make today all about inspiration and action. Let’s create a ripple effect that inspires businesses and communities everywhere to improve accessibility and inclusion in their own unique ways.
So, join us in making the world purple today!

Words from Mike Adams OBE:
Accessibility. Is everybody’s business.
Purple Tuesday is a symbol of a commitment to improved access. A message of its importance. A reservoir of solutions. And a call to action. Today is about celebration. Making a positive. Practical. Difference for the next 365 days. Because change is what really matters.
Standing at Piccadilly Lights this morning. I feel honoured. Privileged. Proud. Bit cold. Seven years ago I went shopping. Ignored by staff in 23 of the 27 shops I entered. A fear of saying. Doing. The wrong thing. Made them constantly swerve any conversation with me. That was the moment. The lived experience. Which is now helping to unlock a global movement. A huge thank you for all of the events taking place today across the hashtag UK, hashtag Jersey, hashtag Germany, hashtag Hongkong, hashtag Dubai and hashtag AbuDhabi in hashtag UAE, hashtag Pakistan and hashtag Malaysia. Know this is the tip of a purple iceberg.
I am asking all of us to hashtag ThinkAccessibility. To shine a light on positive products, services and interventions which deliver greater independence, choice and better everyday life for all. If you see it. Can describe it. Capture it. And share with the world tagging in hashtag PurpleTuesday.
To all disabled people. People with disabilities. People of Determination. My experience will have definitely been your experience. Let’s drive sustainable change together. Alongside a rapidly growing band of hashtag Allies who understand and also demand change.
