About me	I am a 52 year old lady with Long Covid and ME/Chronic fatigue syndrome. I use a mobility scooter and a rollator to aid with my fatigue when mobilising. I am mainly housebound and live with my two adult sons, two cats and a leopard gecko who are very well behaved :). I enjoy a good ole chat and giggle when my fatigue allows.

What you would be doing…	I can suffer with low mood due to my chronic illnesses and sometimes have flare ups of my symptoms. I may be in bed for 3 days, on these days I will need lunch and hot drinks brought up to me as well as a little chat. I am unable to tidy up and clean the house, so I will require this doing for me. I will need washing put on, dried and ironed. I may also need help with forms, appointments being made, or cancelling for me. I am looking for a PA to also drive me to medical appointments, allowing for my mobility scooter to be put in the car (it does come apart in three pieces). When my fatigue allows, I would like to attend socialising groups, go out for lunch or have a hot chocolate. I love chatting, being outside in the fresh air, doing puzzles, painting stones and writing in my journal. I also like my garden kept tidy. I am also looking for a PA to keep me company, maybe watching a movie or chatting. Driving licence and access to car essential
The person I would like…	I am looking for a reliable and flexible PA to support me in living a more fulfilling life who is also a patient communicator, as I can struggle to find words whilst speaking, due to fatigue. Also a non smoker/non vaper please.

What you would be doing…	Supporting A in the home setting, keeping him engaged throughout the day with sensory filled activities. Helping boost A’s confidence, to broaden his interests and support to develop his independence skills.
Required skills and experience	Knowledge of Autism and PICA is essential, along with experience in supporting someone with challenging behaviours. The person must be vigilant and highly aware in order to assess the environment and ensure A’s safety. They should have a kind and caring nature, be active, and be happy to get involved in the things J enjoys to help him stay engaged. They also need to be able to assess situations and adjust activities accordingly if A becomes heightened or disengaged.

About me	I live in the community in my own home, with no access to the outside due to my health conditions. My main diagnosis is Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (diagnosed in 2008) which means I suffer from excruciating pain daily. This means I am largely bedbound and I am unable to carry out daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, organising my home etc. With the right support in place, I wish to improve my health as much as possible, to the point of being able to spend time outside my home as I love the outdoors. Whilst I am bedbound I spend my time, watching true crime documentaries, YouTube videos and have interest in the Health and Beauty industry as this is what I did before my diagnosis.
Hours and rate of pay	£15 per hour – double rate on bank holidays 2x staff members and a bank. The two PA's with the permanent position would be sharing the hours equally.. on a 'rolling rota' of 3 shifts one week and 4 shifts another week- alternating between the 2 staff members. 7-hour shifts starting at 1 pm till 08:30pm (30 min unpaid lunch break) We are happy to discuss other shift pattern options with the applicant also.

What you would be doing…	I need help with getting about as mobility can be difficult. I need crutches all the time and quite often my wheelchair. I need help with the toilet and taking a bath. At times I also need help with getting dressed. If my epilepsy is particularly bad this help increases as I get anxious with falling too. To be driven to and from college and lily rose centre both in Chelmsford. Maybe a couple smaller local trips to places like GP, hairdressers, barbers etc. Personal daily care, prepare some meals, basic laundry say putting out on line maybe a bit of ironing as J is unable to stand. The person I would like…	Kind, encouraging as J can be stubborn and needs a firm authority to get him to do what’s needed. Someone who can support and help J’s development of independence to move forward with his next stage of life. Someone flexible as training will be provided. But reliable, and passionate about the role important to give J the support and independence he deserves, while still able to be in a home environment. Full uk driving licence required, as need to drive mobility car. Own car with business insurance an advantage but not essential.
