\nAbout me
\nI am a happy, cheeky 8-year-old autistic boy living in Cheshunt. I am non
\nverbal and communicate mainly by taking an adult’s hand and leading them
\nto what I want or need. I enjoy tickles, affection, sensory play, being
\noutdoors and taking part in activities in my local community.
\nI am very sensory-seeking and need close supervision as I have limited
\nawareness of danger and do not always recognise risks around me.
\nAlthough I am continent and will usually take myself to the toilet, I may still
\nrequire support and supervision to ensure I remain safe.
\nAt times, if I become frustrated or am unable to communicate what I want, I
\ncan become distressed. This may result in crying, pinching and,
\noccasionally, biting. I need calm, patient adults who can understand my
\ncues, reduce demands when I am overwhelmed and help me regulate my
\nemotions safely.

\nShopping outings
\nSwimming activities
\nCommunity-based activities
\nSensory play and engagement

\nProviding close supervision to keep me safe
\nEncouraging independence, confidence and social participation

\nYou will understand that communication is not always verbal and be willing

\nExperience and Qualifications
\nPrevious experience supporting autistic or non-verbal children is desirable
\nbut not essential. The right attitude, patience and willingness to learn are
\nequally important.
