\nAbout me
\nI am a 43-year-old single mother living with my teenage son in Turnford. I
\nhave a diagnosed Learning Disability and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD),
\nand I have a history of psychosis.
\nI have successfully maintained my tenancy and cared for my son
\nindependently for many years. However, my disabilities can affect my ability
\nto consistently manage domestic tasks, maintain my home environment to
\nan appropriate standard, and plan and prepare nutritious meals.
\nI would like practical and enabling support to maintain a clean, safe and
\ncomfortable home environment, and to develop sustainable routines around
\nshopping, meal planning and cooking. The aim of the support is to promote
\nmy independence, wellbeing and confidence in managing daily living
\nactivities, while supporting positive outcomes for both myself and my son.
\nHours and rate of
\npay
\n3 hours per week on flexible days and times to be discussed and agreed.
\nRate of Pay: Funded through Direct Payments in line with the agreed local
\nauthority funding arrangement.

\nTurnford, Hertfordshire, EN10 area

\nWhat you would
\nbe doing\u2026

\nYour role will involve providing practical and enabling support at home,
\nhelping me to build confidence and maintain daily living routines. Tasks may
\ninclude:
\nSupporting me to maintain my home environment through cleaning
\nand household tasks
\n\uf0b7
\n\uf0b7
\n\uf0b7
\n\uf0b7
\n\uf0b7
\nSupporting with grocery shopping where required
\nHelping with meal planning and preparing healthy, nutritious meals
\nfor myself and my son
\nProviding guidance, encouragement and practical support to develop
\nindependent living skills
\nSupporting me to organise and manage household routines
\nOffering community access support, such as shopping or local
\nactivities, if requested; this is appreciated but not included as part of
\nthe current package of care
\nThe focus of the role should be to support and encourage me to do tasks
\nwith guidance, rather than completing tasks on my behalf.<\/p>\n

\nExperience and Qualifications
\nExperience or knowledge of supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities
\nand Autism would be highly desirable. The PA should have good
\ncommunication skills, empathy and a patient, understanding approach.
\nAn understanding of person-centred practice, promoting independence and
\nsafeguarding would be beneficial.
\nDriving
\nA driver with access to a vehicle would be preferred but is not essential. A
\nvehicle may be beneficial to support with shopping or community activities if
\nrequired. Business insurance would be recommended if the PA uses their
\nown vehicle as part of the role. Applicants who do not drive will still be
\nconsidered.
\nAdditional Information
\nOne Personal Assistant is required. There is no requirement for hoist use or
