\nPayment Holder
\nL is 22 years old and lives with a traumatic brain injury following a skiing
\naccident in 2024 (causing right-sided physical issues, balance difficulties, and
\nsome cognitive challenges with memory and planning).
\nL was studying Computer Science at university before his accident. He is bright,
\ncurious, active and committed to his recovery, with interests including learning
\nlanguages, maths, computer science, computer games, chess.
\nHe still loves sports (he swims, runs, climbs \u2013 and is working to get back to
\nvolleyball and skiing). And he enjoys getting out and about \u2013 for walks, to
\nevents, and for trips to cafes and the pub.
\nHours and rate of
\npay hours
\n10-15 hours a week, three days per week, paid at \u00a319.20 per hour (the role is
\nshared with another PA). Monday-Friday – pattern of hours to be discussed
\n(some daily flexibility appreciated).
\nLocation
\nCambridge \u2013 CB3
\nDBS\/Checks
\nConfirmation of Enhanced DBS check
\nRight to Work and references will be needed.
\nWhat you would
\nbe doing\u2026
\nL prefers to be as independent as possible with personal care – he will let you
\nknow when he needs support with showering\/dressing.
\nWorking alongside L to promote and encourage independent living.
\nCooking\/preparing meals with L using fresh ingredients.
\nSupporting L with daily exercises, social inclusion, meeting with friends,
\nswimming, climbing and attending other activities and appointments.
\nRequired skills
\nand experience
\nA friendly, easy-going, empathetic, reliable, trustworthy, pro-active person with
\na positive attitude and youthful mind \u2013 this is more important than specific
\nexperience supporting others.
\nSomeone who shares similar interests, enjoys being active and is full of ideas
\nwould be great.
\nSomeone who knows their way around a kitchen and can cook simple, fresh,
\nhealthy food is essential.
\nSomeone who has a genuine interest in supporting others to live their best lives.
\nA driving licence is essential, ideally with access to your own vehicle and business
\nuse insurance cover.
