\nPayment Holder
\nA close-knit care team in St Albans is expanding to support a 25-year-old autistic
\nadult with severe autism, learning difficulties, and anxiety. The goal is to help him
\nincrease his independence and confidence as part of his transition from family
\ncare to 24\/7 professional support in his own home.
\nThe individual requires 2:1 support at all times to ensure the safety of himself,
\nhis staff, and the wider community. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone
\npassionate about supporting adults with complex needs to live fulfilling,
\nindependent lives.
\nHours and rate of
\npay
\nLocation
\n\u00a314.00 – \u00a317.33 per hour, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 7am \u2013 5pm (20 hours
\nper week)
\nSt Albans
\nDBS\/Checks
\nConfirmation of DBS check
\nRight to Work and references will be needed.
\nTraining
\nTraining will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:
\n\u2022 Safeguarding Adults
\n\u2022 Introduction to first aid
\n\u2022 Health and Safety
\nWhat you would
\nbe doing\u2026
\nSupport daily routines and personal care (such as bathing and toileting, once
\ntrust has been established)
\nAssist with meal preparation and food support
\nAccompany and encourage participation in community activities and day centres
\nBuild a trusting, positive relationship through patience, consistency, and
\nunderstanding
\nPromote independence, communication, and engagement in enjoyable and
\nmeaningful activities
\nMorning support and preparation for the day
\nAttending activities such as day centres, swimming, the gym, or walks
\nPreparing and serving meals
\nSupporting with leisure activities such as football, live music, pantomimes, and
\noutdoor events
\nRequired skills
\nand experience
\nMust hold a UK driving licence (Motability car provided \u2013 small automatic)
\nMust be a non-smoker
\nWilling to provide personal care (after relationship-building period)
\nComfortable preparing food and supporting with meals
\nFlexible, reliable, patient, and professional
\nAble to work as part of a dedicated team
\nExperience supporting individuals with autism, learning disabilities, or in 1:1 \/ 2:1
\nsettings is desirable but not essential
\nWillingness to learn and follow individual support and behaviour plans
