\nAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Female
\nPersonal Assistant to support a friendly disabled woman living with her family in
\nStevenage.
\nThe successful applicant will provide support across all aspects of daily living,
\nenabling the individual to remain as independent as possible while enjoying a
\nfulfilling and active lifestyle. This is a rewarding role for someone who is patient,
\ncompassionate and committed to delivering person-centred support.
\nHours and rate of
\npay
\nHours: Initially 12 hours per week (with the possibility of additional hours
\nbecoming available)
\nRate of Pay: \u00a316.00 per hour
\nLocation
\nStevenage
\nDBS\/Checks
\nConfirmation of DBS check required
\nRight to Work documentation and references will be needed
\nTraining
\nTraining will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:
\n\u2022 Safeguarding
\n\u2022 Introduction to first aid
\n\u2022 Health and Safety
\nWhat you would
\nbe doing\u2026
\nProviding support with all aspects of personal and intimate care.
\nAssisting with daily living activities and maintaining routines.
\nSupporting communication and encouraging engagement with others.
\nProviding constant supervision, guidance and reassurance where required.
\nSupporting access to the local community, including shopping, cinema visits and
\nother leisure activities.
\nEncouraging participation in hobbies and social activities.
\nThe person I

\nBe kind, patient, reliable and trustworthy.
\nHave a positive attitude and be willing to learn the individual’s specific support
\nneeds.
\nBe able to follow guidance and training provided by the family.
\nBe flexible and available to work evenings and weekends when required.
\nHold a full, clean UK driving licence and be confident driving a Motability vehicle
\nwhen needed.
\nBe committed to providing high-quality, person-centred support.
\nFull training will be provided by the family to ensure the successful applicant
\nunderstands the individual’s needs and preferred methods of support. During the
\nprobationary period, the successful candidate will receive full pay while
\ncompleting supervised shifts and shadowing experienced support.
\nThis post is open to female applicants only. The requirement for a female
\nPersonal Assistant is a genuine occupational requirement due to the provision of
\npersonal and intimate care, in accordance with the Equality Act 2010,
\nSchedule 9, Part 1.
