Support Worker \u2013 Huntingdon
\nWe are currently recruiting for the opportunity to join a fantastic team, supporting a man with
\na learning disability in Huntingdon.
\nThey live in their own home and enjoy a relaxed lifestyle. They love nothing more than
\nwatching TV, relaxing in their sensory room, dozing on the sofa and spending time outdoors
\nin the sunshine. They also enjoy getting out and about for gentle walks and visits to local
\nparks. Every day is a little different \u2013 you might be baking one day, chilling out in the
\nsensory room or feeding ducks along the beautiful Huntingdon riverside.
\nThe person you will support is non-verbal and communicates through their behaviour,
\nexpressions and interactions. Building a positive relationship and understanding their
\nindividual communication style is an important part of the role.
\nThe person you will support requires support with all aspects of daily living, including
\npersonal care, meal preparation, medication support, household tasks and maintaining a safe,
\ncomfortable and well-managed home environment. Providing personal care is an essential
\npart of this role.
\nThis is primarily a lone-working role. The successful applicant will be comfortable working
\nindependently and will enjoy building a positive, trusting relationship with the person they
\nsupport. This role is about supporting a person to enjoy the things that matter to them, so the
\nsuccessful applicant will be patient, relaxed in their approach and comfortable supporting a
\nslower-paced lifestyle.

\nmay have supported a family member or friend, or have personal experience of caring for
\nsomeone with additional needs.

\nEssential Requirements

\nExperience of supporting people with a learning disability or children and young
\npeople with SEND\/SEN (paid, voluntary or personal experience)
\nExperienced and confident in lone working and providing 1:1 support to people with a
\nlearning disability
\nAn Enhanced DBS certificate, or willingness to obtain one
\nGood spoken English
\nThe right to work in the UK
\nA driving licence is not essential for this role.
\nHours and Pay

\n\u00a385.00 per sleep-in (10:30pm \u2013 7:30am)
\nEnhanced hourly rate for Bank Holidays
\n5.6 weeks’ annual leave (pro rata)
\nThis is a PAYE employed role with annual leave and employment benefits. Unfortunately,
\nwe are unable to consider applications from self-employed support workers or agency staff.
\nAvailable Position
\nWe currently have one vacancy for 29 hours per week, worked over a two-week rolling
\nrota, plus sleep-ins.
\nThe shift pattern is:

\nThursday 7:30am \u2013 7:30pm
\nSunday 1:30pm \u2013 10:30pm, plus a sleep-in from 10:30pm \u2013 7:30am
\nThere may be opportunities to work additional hours from time to time to cover annual leave
\nand sickness.
\nFull training and ongoing support will be provided.
