Personal Assistant (PA)\/Support Worker

\nPayment Holder
\nWe are looking for a Support Worker to spend time with our 10 year old son to
\nhelp him broaden his circle of friends he can trust, A only talks to his parents but
\nit is hoped this will change with confidence and age. A has a diagnosis of ASD,
\nanxiety and learning difficulties.
\nA enjoys walking, playing on the swings, kicking a football around, going out for
\nfood, playing with superheroes, wearing scary zombie masks, drawing and
\nbaking.
\nA enjoys shopping, especially if it involves chocolate but would be upset if
\npeople he didn\u2019t know interacted with him.
\nHours and rate of
\npay hours Flexible hours 75 available to be used at weekends @ \u00a315 per hour
\n3 hours every other Saturday, must be flexible.
\nLocation Eaton Ford, St Neots, PE19 Must be local or willing to travel
\nDBS\/Checks Confirmation of Enhanced DBS check
\nRight to Work and references will be needed.
\nWhat you would
\nbe doing\u2026
\nDepending on the weather, indoor days would be playing with Adam and
\nhis toys or make-believe games. Listening to him if he talks and learning
\nto understand his needs, baking cakes together, teaching him how to
\nhelp with housework.
\nOutdoor days would be kicking a football in the par, running and chasing
\ngames in the park, nature walks visiting shops in town.
\nA is physically fit, but he does tip-toe unless corrected. He can use the
\ntoilet independently but might need reassurance and some assistance
\nwith cleaning himself, he cannot be left alone due to his anxiety.
\nRequired skills
\nand experience
\nExperience in a SEND environment would be preferred.
\nIf you can drive with access to your own vehicle with appropriate insurance that
\nwould be great but is not essential.
\nThe ideal candidate would be caring, softly spoken, patient and understanding
\nwith a willingness to embrace unusual behaviours, have a cape and super
\npowers especially like Maui from Moana; the Demi-God who can change into
\ndifferent animals!<\/p>\n
