About the Direct Payment Holder<\/strong><\/td>\n <\/p>\n

The client is a young neurodivergent male who enjoys engaging in hobbies both at home and in the local community. He experiences anxiety and has a PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) profile, so he benefits from a calm, patient and flexible approach. He may need time to build trust with new people and responds best to a person-centred, relationship-led style of support.<\/p>\n

Weekend availability required \u2013 Saturday or Sunday<\/strong><\/p>\n

What you would be doing\u2026<\/strong><\/td>\n <\/p>\n

Building a positive, trusting relationship with the young person and their family<\/p>\n

Providing calm emotional support, particularly when accessing the community<\/p>\n

Encouraging and facilitating engagement in hobbies\u2014beginning at home and gradually within the local community<\/p>\n

Supporting the young person to feel safe, confident and comfortable during outings<\/p>\n

Using a flexible, person-centred approach tailored to his needs and pace<\/p>\n

Required skills and experience<\/strong><\/td>\n\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Experience working with or supporting neurodivergent young people<\/p>\n

Understanding of the PDA profile<\/p>\n

Experience supporting individuals with anxiety<\/p>\n

Awareness of ARFID (desirable but not essential)<\/p>\n

Ability to build rapport slowly and respectfully<\/p>\n

Calm, empathetic and patient approach<\/p>\n

Strong communication and willingness to work collaboratively with the family<\/p>\n

Flexibility and understanding that engagement may take time<\/p>\n
