About the Direct Payment Holder<\/strong><\/td>\nA warm and rewarding opportunity is available to support a cheerful and curious 10-year-old boy who loves music, cause-and-effect toys, and exploring new places.<\/p>\n

He is non-verbal and requires full support with mobility and personal care. While he is unable to sit or stand independently, he can roll and enjoys interaction and play. He is tube-fed but may occasionally enjoy small treats orally. He thrives on sensory engagement, outings, and meaningful connection with those around him.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Hours and rate of pay <\/strong><\/td>\nApproximately 9 hours per week<\/p>\n

Weekend role (Saturday and\/or Sunday)<\/p>\n

Additional hours available during school holidays<\/p>\n

Supporting with feeding (including tube feeding)<\/p>\n

Assisting with all aspects of personal care<\/p>\n

Using a hoist for transfers, positioning, and mobility support<\/p>\n

Engaging him in play, especially music and sensory activities<\/p>\n

Accompanying him on outings and helping him access the community<\/p>\n

Observing and responding to his communication cues (facial expressions and sounds)<\/p>\n

Required skills and experience<\/strong><\/td>\n\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The ideal candidate will be kind, patient, and attentive, with a genuine interest in supporting a child to enjoy life to the fullest. Being observant and responsive to non-verbal communication is essential.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Experience with tube feeding and manual handling (including hoisting) is desirable, though training can be provided<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A driver with a clean licence is preferred, as you may be required to drive a WAV (Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle)<\/p>\n
