About me<\/strong><\/td>\n <\/p>\n

This role is to support a happy and sociable 6-year-old girl with autism and ADHD<\/strong> who enjoys spending time with others and taking part in fun activities. She particularly enjoys being outdoors<\/strong>, visiting farms<\/strong>, going to parks<\/strong>, and taking part in sensory and movement-based activities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

She is a friendly and engaging child who enjoys social interaction and being out in the community. She is toilet trained<\/strong>, but may require gentle prompting and supervision when using the toilet while out and about.<\/p>\n

At times she may experience sensory sensitivities<\/strong> and may need calm support when transitioning between activities or if environments become overwhelming. She benefits from patient, consistent and understanding adults<\/strong> who have an awareness of supporting children with additional needs.<\/p>\n

Hours and rate of pay <\/strong><\/td>\nHours:<\/strong> 2 hours per week initially<\/p>\n

Day:<\/strong> Saturday afternoons (typically between 1pm \u2013 3pm<\/strong>)<\/p>\n

Future opportunities:<\/strong> There may be opportunities for the hours to increase over time depending on needs and funding arrangements.<\/p>\n

What you would be doing\u2026<\/strong><\/td>\n <\/p>\n

The Carer will support the child to access the community and participate in enjoyable activities<\/strong>. This may include visits to local parks, farms, sensory activities, soft play, or other child-friendly outings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Responsibilities will include:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Supporting the child to safely access and enjoy community activities<\/li>\n
  • Engaging in play and age-appropriate outings<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Supporting transitions between activities<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Providing reassurance if the child becomes overwhelmed<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Prompting and supervising with toilet use when required<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Ensuring the child\u2019s safety and wellbeing at all times<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Ideally the Carer will be able to drive and have access to their own vehicle with appropriate insurance<\/strong> to support community outings, although this is not essential if activities can be accessed locally.<\/p>\n

The person I would like\u2026<\/strong><\/td>\nA kind, patient and reliable female Personal Assistant<\/strong> is preferred for this role. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with children and supporting them to access activities in the community.<\/p>\n

The person should be:<\/p>\n

  • Calm, engaging and dependable<\/li>\n
  • Understanding of children with additional needs<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Confident supporting children in community settings<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Able to provide reassurance and gentle guidance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Experience supporting children with autism or additional needs<\/strong> would be beneficial. Backgrounds in childcare, SEN support, education or youth work<\/strong> are particularly welcomed.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
