About the Direct Payment Holder<\/strong><\/td>\n <\/p>\n

The client is a 22-year-old young adult who lives alone with a small dog. She has autism (ASD), OCD, PTSD,\u00a0 an eating disorder, and selective mutism. These conditions affect her motivation, energy levels, and ability to manage everyday tasks, particularly paperwork, nutrition, maintaining her home environment, routines, and social interaction.<\/p>\n

Hours and rate of pay <\/strong><\/td>\nHours:<\/strong> 6 hours per week<\/p>\n

Days:<\/strong> Mondays and Thursdays<\/p>\n

Hours per day:<\/strong> 3 hours<\/p>\n

Flexibility:<\/strong> Support times should be flexible and responsive to energy levels and anxiety on the day<\/p>\n

Appointments and accessing the community<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Accompanying the client to appointments and shopping<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Supporting communication during appointments, including advocating when she is unable to speak<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Helping her prepare for appointments in advance to reduce anxiety<\/p>\n

Daily living support<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Gentle prompting and support with daily routines when she feels overwhelmed or low<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Helping to organise tasks and break them down into manageable steps<\/p>\n

Emotional support<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Providing calm, patient, and non-judgemental support<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Allowing time and space when the client is overwhelmed, without pressure to communicate verbally<\/p>\n

Required skills and experience<\/strong><\/td>\n\n
    \n
  • Experience or a good understanding of supporting people with autism, anxiety, depression, and selective mutism<\/li>\n
  • Experience supporting individuals who find verbal communication difficult<\/li>\n
  • Calm, patient, and empathetic approach, with the ability to build trust over time<\/li>\n
  • Comfortable using alternative methods of communication (e.g. written communication, prompts, or supported advocacy)<\/li>\n
  • Able to work flexibly and adapt to fluctuating mental health and energy levels<\/li>\n
  • Female Carer required<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Preferably a driver with access to their own car<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    A willingness to learn, follow guidance, and adapt to the client\u2019s individual needs is more important than formal qualifications. This role would suit someone who is compassionate, reliable, and able to provide steady, low-pressure support in a trauma-informed way.<\/p>\n
