About the Direct Payment Holder<\/strong><\/td>\nA family in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Carer to support their two bright, friendly, and chatty boys, aged 6 and 8, who have SEND. Both children attend a local special school and have needs including Autism, Gastrostomy (PEG) feeding, and possible ADHD.<\/p>\n

This role is designed to provide structured support to the family for six hours per week<\/strong>, during after-school hours<\/strong>, term-time only<\/strong>. Specific days and timings will be agreed upon with the successful candidates<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Hours and rate of pay <\/strong><\/td>\n6 hours per week (\u00a318.92 per hour)<\/p>\n

\u2022 Introduction to first aid<\/p>\n

\u2022 Health and Safety \/ Moving and handling<\/p>\n

What you would be doing\u2026<\/strong><\/td>\n <\/p>\n

Supporting each child to take part in preferred activities at home<\/p>\n

Accompanying and assisting them in community-based activities or clubs<\/p>\n

Helping with emotional and sensory regulation using family-provided strategies<\/p>\n

Supporting the children with homework tasks<\/p>\n

Preparing and serving snacks and drinks<\/p>\n

Engaging in conversations and showing interest in the children\u2019s hobbies<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Required skills and experience<\/strong><\/td>\nThe successful applicant will be:<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Calm, empathetic, patient, and genuine in their approach<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Confident and enthusiastic about working with children<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Experienced in supporting Autistic children<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Able to communicate clearly, with a good standard of spoken and written English<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Friendly and capable of building a positive rapport with both children and parents<\/p>\n

A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are highly desirable<\/strong>. Experience with Gastrostomy\/PEG feeding is an advantage but not essential<\/strong>, as full training will be provided for emergency care related to the child\u2019s Gastrostomy\/Stoma.<\/p>\n
