About the Direct Payment Holder<\/strong><\/td>\n <\/p>\n

A dedicated and compassionate Care\u00a0Assistant (PA)<\/strong> is required to support a single mother and her 6-year-old son, who has autism and global developmental delay<\/strong>. The role involves caring for him at home<\/strong> and, when possible, accompanying the family on outings<\/strong> to play centres, swimming pools, or shops.<\/p>\n

This position is ideal for someone with experience working with children on the autism spectrum<\/strong>, particularly those who are non-verbal and have additional needs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Hours and rate of pay <\/strong><\/td>\n40 hours per YEAR<\/strong> (mainly during school holidays)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Training <\/strong><\/td>\nTraining will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Safeguarding Children<\/p>\n

\u2022 Introduction to first aid \/ Paediatric first aid<\/p>\n

\u2022 Health and Safety \/ Moving and handling<\/p>\n

What you would be doing\u2026<\/strong><\/td>\nProviding one-on-one support<\/strong> at home, ensuring a safe and engaging environment<\/p>\n

Assisting with daily activities, play, and structured routines<\/strong><\/p>\n

Encouraging sensory and social development<\/strong> through play and interaction<\/p>\n

Accompanying the child and parent on outings<\/strong> (e.g., play centres, swimming, shopping) if needed<\/p>\n

Supporting basic care needs<\/strong> and helping to manage challenging behaviours with patience and understanding<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Required skills and experience<\/strong><\/td>\nExperience working with children with autism<\/strong> and an understanding of their needs<\/p>\n

Childcare qualification<\/strong> or relevant experience preferred<\/p>\n

A patient, caring, and energetic approach<\/strong> to working with children<\/p>\n

Ability to handle challenging behaviours<\/strong> calmly and effectively<\/p>\n

A driver with their own car<\/strong> is a bonus but not essential<\/p>\n

Female PA preferred<\/strong><\/p>\n
