About the Direct Payment Holder<\/strong><\/td>\nSupport for an easy going 19 year old who has a great sense humour and is a pleasure to be around.<\/p>\n

Z has a severe learning disability, genetic epilepsy (medication resistant) although daytime seizures are rare.\u00a0 Z also has hypermobility affecting his joints, he wears leg splints and can walk short distances though does tire easily.<\/p>\n

Z loves college, in particular the bus ride there and back, has lots of friends and gets on well with his tutors.\u00a0 Z enjoys puzzles & books and being in the garden, his pets (a dog and a cat) are very important to him.<\/p>\n

Hours and rate of pay \u00a0hours <\/strong><\/td>\n\u00a315 per hour<\/p>\n

5 \u2013 16 hours per week \u00a0Short days would be 2.5 hours from 4.30pm.<\/p>\n

Short hours (after return from college) on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, longer hours on Thursday<\/p>\n

What you would be doing\u2026<\/strong><\/td>\nSupport with personal care – managing toilet needs, helping him with snacks and drinks<\/p>\n

Engaging Z with activities he enjoys in the family home & garden.<\/p>\n

Required skills and experience<\/strong><\/td>\nIt is essential that you are kind and compassionate, someone who is happy to be interactive & encouraging.<\/p>\n

Experience and training in first aid, manual handling, experience with epilepsy and seizures.<\/p>\n

If you have experience supporting others in the community with learning disabilities that would be great but is not essential.<\/p>\n

Someone who is trustworthy & comfortable working in a family home environment while being respectful of the family\u2019s privacy at all times.<\/p>\n

Someone who has the motivation to develop and build trust & understanding in the role with Z and his parents.<\/p>\n

You will need to be comfortable around dogs and cats.<\/p>\n

Car owner\/driver essential due to location<\/p>\n
