About the Direct Payment Holder<\/strong><\/td>\n <\/p>\n

A 24-year-old autistic man is seeking a Support Worker. He enjoys films, going to the cinema, and playing computer games.<\/p>\n

Hours and rate of pay <\/strong><\/td>\n8 hours per week (days and times flexible \u2013 daytime or evening)<\/p>\n

\u00a315.50 per hour, with a possible increase following a successful probation period for the right person<\/p>\n

Location<\/strong><\/td>\nSt Neots (PE19)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
DBS\/Checks<\/strong><\/td>\nConfirmation of DBS check<\/p>\n

Training <\/strong><\/td>\nTraining will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Safeguarding Adults<\/p>\n

\u2022 Introduction to first aid<\/p>\n

Travel and route training to build confidence accessing the local community<\/p>\n

Identifying activities of interest and supporting participation in them<\/p>\n

Building confidence in social interactions<\/p>\n

Practicing money skills such as paying for items in shops<\/p>\n

Exploring employment opportunities<\/p>\n

Exploring voluntary opportunities<\/p>\n

Required skills and experience<\/strong><\/td>\nExperience of supporting individuals with autism is beneficial but not essential \u2013 a willingness to learn is important<\/p>\n

Life experience and understanding of the challenges autism can bring<\/p>\n

Patient, kind, and encouraging, with the ability to promote independence<\/p>\n

Engaging and interactive, helping to develop skills while supporting personal growth<\/p>\n
