About the service user | L is a 14 year old boy with a diagnoses of Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder & Global Developmental Delay.
L likes playing his Playstation, online with his friends too, he also enjoys playing football and collects/trades football cards.
L shares his home with 2, friendly dogs, one is his best friend as they have grown up together and is an important part of L life so you will need to be comfortable around dogs.

Hours and rate of Pay |
Hours needed mostly in the school holidays & occasional weekends paid at £12.50 per hour 86.5 hours available.
Enhanced DBS clearance is essential for this role.

What you would be doing… |
Supporting L to access the community & places of interest.
Going to the park with a football, going to the cinema or tenpin bowling.
Supporting L to develop life skills, such as communication, confidence and decision making as well as broadening his interests and socialising with other young people in a supportive and structured environment.

The person I would like… | Some experience of working with others with Autism and learning disabilities is important for this role, you need to have an understanding of the challenges learning disabilities can bring.
Someone who is fun and kind, willing to get involved in activities with L while offering encouragement in order to improve and develop sills.
You will need to be someone who can demonstrate they are reliable and punctual as routine is very important to L.
You will have excellent spoken English to aid communication and be able to engage in an easy to understand way.
