| About the Direct Payment Holder | This role is a fantastic opportunity to help a young adult with a neurodevelopmental disability (FASD) not only to get out and about in his community but to help him explore ways to contribute his talents via volunteering and to develop his interests in music, theatre, stage, sound/lighting, and dance. |

| Training | Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:
• Safeguarding Adults • Introduction to first aid • Health and Safety |
| What you would be doing… | Community Access: Assist a young man with a brain-based disability in accessing community activities and creative networks, especially involving music, theatre, and dance.
Transportation: Drive to related activities and events, providing 1:1 support to ensure participation in social activities. Life Skills: Help in gaining life skills by taking him to charity shops, parks, cafes, and various agreed activities each week. Volunteering Support: Assist in accessing volunteering opportunities Coping Strategies: Provide support in promoting coping strategies if he becomes tired or overwhelmed. Personal Organisation: Help him keep track of his belongings (backpack, wallet, coats) and ensure he is dressed appropriately for the weather. |
| Required skills and experience |
Driving Licence: Must have a driving license and own car (a Motability car may be provided soon).
Experience: Understanding of and/or experience with supporting someone with a neurodevelopmental condition and learning disability. Familiarity with SEND and the local area of Ware/Hertfordshire is preferred.
Skills: Willingness to learn about FASD Musical interest is a bonus (Kpop interest a huge plus) Understanding of expressive and receptive language differences
Personal Qualities: Patience Compassion Positivity Flexibility Ability to understand the underlying ‘why’ behind situations
Additional Information: · The role does not require the use of a hoist. · Two individuals could share the role if necessary.
