About the Direct Payment Holder | Are you a patient, kind, and experienced professional with a passion for supporting young people? We are looking for a Personal Assistant (PA) to support a 13-year-old girl with autism in accessing her community, building social skills, and engaging in her favourite activities. |
Hours and rate of pay | 3 hours per week (flexible, afterschool or weekends), £14.00 per hour (depending on experience). |
Location | Stanstead Abbotts, SG12 |
DBS/Checks | Confirmation of DBS check
Right to Work and references will be needed. |
Training | Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:
• Safeguarding Children • Paediatric first aid • Health and Safety / Moving and handling

What you would be doing… |
Support the client with accessing the community, including outings to places like bowling alleys, swimming pools, and arcades. Provide encouragement and reassurance to help build confidence in social situations. Engage in activities the client enjoys, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience. Help the client navigate social norms and interactions while fostering independence. |
Required skills and experience |
The ideal candidate will be:
Patient, kind, and understanding, with a calm and gentle communication style. Supportive and reliable, providing reassurance and safety in the community. Experienced in autism support, with the ability to adapt to individual needs and communication preferences.
Travel: The PA can use their own car or public transport; a car is not essential. Gender Preference: Female PA with experience working with girls with autism. Experience: Experience supporting individuals with autism, understanding of different communication styles, and a patient, caring approach.
Comfortable engaging in the client’s chosen activities, fostering trust and enjoyment.
Personal care is involved, a female required. This advert complies with the Sex Discrimination Act (1975) Section 7 (2b).
