About the Direct Payment Holder A young man with Autistic Spectrum Disorder is looking for a male Personal Assistant to support him in developing life skills, confidence, and independence.
Hours and rate of pay 6 hours per week (flexible days).

Hourly rate (TBC)

 

Location St Albans (AL1)
DBS/Checks Confirmation of DBS check

Right to Work and references will be needed.

Training Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:

• Safeguarding Adults

• Introduction to first aid

• Health and Safety / Moving and handling

 

What you would be doing…  

Provide support with reading, writing, and money management skills to assist with his volunteering role at a local café.

Encourage and accompany him to activities such as cinema trips, park visits, coffee shops, restaurants, the gym, and using public transport (bus/train rides).

Offer social and emotional support to help build confidence in group settings and unfamiliar environments.

Give gentle reminders for everyday tasks, such as dressing appropriately for the weather.

Assist with simple tasks like tying shoelaces if needed.

 

Required skills and experience  

Preferably male PA.

Experience working in SEN (Special Educational Needs) environments such as schools or colleges.

Patient, understanding, and supportive in helping build independence and self-confidence.

A driver with own car would be beneficial but not essential, as public transport and walking are options.
