About the Direct Payment Holder | A young boy with Learning Disabilities who is very friendly and enjoys interacting with others is seeking a PA to offer 1:1 support in the family home to ensure his safety.
The young boy is pre-verbal and uses object cues and is beginning to use photo cues as a way to communicate his needs. |
Hours and rate of pay | 3 hours per week – hours to be used over 2 days – 1.5 hours each day
Friday afternoon required |

DBS/Checks | Confirmation of DBS check
Right to Work and references will be needed. |
Training | Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:
• Safeguarding Children • Paediatric first aid • Moving and handling

What you would be doing… | You will be supporting and supervising on a 1:1 basis at all times. To ensure the young boys safety and danger awareness in and around the family home.
To be fully aware of his complex Epileptic profile and to be able to act immediately and escalate if medical attention is required.

Required skills and experience | Seeking a PA who is friendly, easy-going who has great interpersonal skills and shows initiative.
Someone who has very good attention to detail and is flexible to ensure that they can meet the evolving needs of the young boy. A person who is comfortable to interact with and keep up the pace of a very active young child. Previous experience of working with children is essential and experience of working with a child with special needs desirable. Must be willing to undergo Epilepsy training in the future specific to the young person’s Epilepsy care plan.
