About the Direct
Payment Holder A is an active, excitable and creative 9-year-old, with a love of all
things arts and crafts. A enjoys drawing and creating comic books and
enjoys being outside and bouncing on the trampoline.
A has a diagnosis of Autism & PICA.
Hours and rate of
pay hours
£15 per hour, 54 support hours available, to be used flexibly at
weekends and holidays.
The working pattern will be agreed with family.
Location Bottisham, CB25 area
DBS/Checks Confirmation of an Enhanced DBS check.
Right to Work and references will be needed.
What you would
be doing… Supporting A in the home setting, keeping him engaged throughout the
day with sensory filled activities. Helping boost A’s confidence, to
broaden his interests and support to develop his independence skills.
Required skills
and experience
Knowledge of Autism and PICA is essential, along with experience in
supporting someone with challenging behaviours. The person must be
vigilant and highly aware to assess the environment and ensure A’s
safety. They should have a kind and caring nature, be active, and be
happy to get involved in the things A enjoys helping him stay engaged.
They also need to be able to assess situations and adjust activities
accordingly if A becomes heightened or disengaged.
