| About the Direct Payment Holder | O is a 7 year old boy who has diagnosis’ of Downs Syndrome with learning disabilities, Autism, hearing loss and an eating disorder, he also experiences regular upper respiratory tract infections and can get breathless due to Asthma. O is non verbal and communicates by leading and some Makaton signs.
O has lots of energy and likes to be busy, he enjoys playing with cars, dancing, going out on his balance bike, ball games like football & basketball, he loves to climb but has no sense of danger. O loves animals but gets scared when they get too close to him, he has a cat at home.

| Hours and rate of pay hours | Flexible hours to be used after school and weekends – 52 hours available. Paid at £13 per hour. |

| What you would be doing… | Supporting O to engage in activities he enjoys at home such as messy play, sensory toys, dancing as well as going to the park to play or other community activities, encouraging O to interact with other children and improving his skills in this area such as sharing.
O wears nappies which you will be required to change. There may be opportunities for you to join O and his mum and siblings on days out too. |
| Required skills and experience | If you have experience of supporting others with learning disabilities that would be great but is not essential.
It is essential that you are alert, O needs constant supervision to keep him safe, he is very fast so you will need to be physically fit. Someone who is kind, encouraging & patient with a sense of fun who is willing to be interactive in order to improve and develop skills while being able to communicate strong boundaries in a way O can understand. A driving licence is essential due to remote location. O has the benefit of living in a smoke free environment, this is essential due to his respiratory difficulties. |
