About the Direct Payment Holder  

A family-oriented woman living in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a warm, reliable, and enthusiastic female Personal Assistant to support her in living an active, fulfilling, and structured life. She is highly autistic, partially sighted, and has partial brain damage from birth. Support is needed both at home and in the community.

This individual is full of energy, loves music, dancing, puzzles, and going on outings. At the same time, she values peace, routine, and a calm environment. She enjoys meaningful conversations, has a great sense of humour, and thrives on consistency and trust with the people around her.

 

Hours and rate of pay Mondays & Tuesdays: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM (outings and excursions)

Wednesdays 4:00 PM – Mondays 10:00 AM: Live-in care provided through a rotating shift system (2–3 familiar PAs for consistency)

 

Location HP3 (Hemel Hempstead)
DBS/Checks Confirmation of DBS check

Right to Work and references will be needed.

Training Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:

• Safeguarding Adults

• Introduction to first aid

• Health and Safety / Moving and handling

 

What you would be doing…  

Accompanying on walks, shopping trips, and community activities

Supporting with exercise routines (e.g., light walking, dancing)

Assistance with personal care, including washing and dressing

Supporting with toileting in public spaces (e.g., ensuring cleanliness and hygiene)

Full support with household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry

Monitoring food portions and encouraging a healthy, balanced lifestyle

Assisting with reaching high places and general home safety

Promoting a structured, happy, and peaceful home environment

Providing companionship and emotional support throughout the day

 

Required skills and experience  

Experience working with individuals with high-level autism

 

A calm, compassionate, and patient nature

 

Energetic, creative, and fun-loving, with a young-at-heart personality

 

Ability to maintain consistent routines and respond to anxiety with reassurance

 

Nutritional or fitness knowledge is an advantage

 

Family-oriented with a positive, can-do attitude

 

A car and valid driving license are preferred for outings and trips

 

A non-driver may be considered if local and comfortable walking frequently
