About the Direct Payment Holder Seeking a female Personal Assistant (PA) to support an individual with multiple physical disabilities, including Hypermobility Syndrome (Ehlers Danlos), osteoarthritis, and chronic pain. The role involves providing personal care, helping with daily living tasks, and supporting social connections and activities.
Hours and rate of pay 2.5 hours every Friday. £13-£14 per hour for home-based tasks.

  £14 per hour for outside activities.

Location Hertfordshire (AL1)
DBS/Checks Confirmation of DBS check

Right to Work and references will be needed.

Training Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:

• Safeguarding Adults

• Introduction to first aid

• Health and Safety / Moving and handling

 

What you would be doing…  

Supporting with personal care, including showering, dressing, and undressing.

Assisting with food preparation and light housework.

Providing help with transfers, hair drying, and hospital or doctor visits.

Facilitating family and social connections, acting as an advocate when needed (e.g., during speech difficulties).

Assisting with activities, both in the home and out in the community (e.g., shopping, concerts).

 

Required skills and experience  

Punctual, kind, and caring, with the ability to listen and follow directions.

Flexible and adaptable, understanding that daily needs may vary due to pain levels and other factors.

Comfortable around pets (there are goldfish in the home).

Able to maintain and respect the specific organization of the client’s home.

Willing to provide personal care.

Must have your own vehicle with space for a foldable wheelchair and business insurance.

Comfortable preparing food.

Previous experience is not required, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.
