We are seeking a friendly, understanding, and patient Personal Assistant (PA) to support a 63-year-old adult male living independently in the Hatfield area. The client has paranoid schizophrenia, epilepsy, and learning difficulties resulting from childhood meningitis. He requires assistance to socialise and engage in his local community, as he struggles with confidence and interacting with others.

Right to Work and references will be needed. |
| Training | Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:
• Safeguarding Adults • Introduction to first aid • Health and Safety

| What you would be doing… |
Providing companionship and driving conversations, as the client has limited experiences to share. Driving the client to local destinations in your own vehicle. Offering reassurance and support in a calm, patient manner, particularly during times of paranoia or anxiety. Keeping communication clear and simple, while ensuring the client understands what has been discussed. Encouraging and enabling the client to enjoy outings that improve his confidence and social interaction.

| Required skills and experience | A naturally friendly and caring person who is patient and understanding.
Experience or training in supporting adults with learning difficulties, paranoia, or mental health challenges. Someone reliable and consistent, as the client struggles with change. A confident driver with a safe, insured vehicle to facilitate trips out into the community. A non-smoker, as the client has strong preferences regarding lifestyle choices.
