A female Personal Assistant / Support Worker is required to provide day-to-day support to a 46-year-old woman living with Fibromyalgia, ADHD, and depression. The successful applicant will be someone who is patient, compassionate, and non-judgemental, and who understands the importance of building trust and consistency in a long-term working relationship. This individual is warm, bubbly, and enjoys humour and conversation, but can be emotionally sensitive and will need a PA who can be emotionally attuned and respectful of her needs. She is also a mum to a 5-year-old autistic son, and the PA will be expected to offer light childcare support when required—particularly when the individual is unwell or managing pain.

Hours and rate of pay | Part-time £14.80 (employed PAYE) – £18.02 (self-employed) per hour
5 to 8 hours per day Minimum 5 days per week, with occasional weekends Flexibility required for longer hours during emergencies

What you would be doing… |
Provide companionship and emotional support on a daily basis Light housekeeping: hoovering, washing up, laundry Meal preparation (lunch and dinner) Light childcare duties, including school pick-ups and supervision Support with weekly shopping, errands, and attending appointments Help with organising paperwork and staying on top of admin Accompany on walks, social activities, or gym visits, once routines are established Be flexible and responsive to changing needs throughout the week

Required skills and experience | Female applicants only – in accordance with the Sex Discrimination Act (1975) Section 7 (2b)
Driver essential – must have access to a vehicle or be willing to be insured on the client’s car Reliable, organised, and confident working with limited supervision Calm, emotionally intelligent, and able to support someone managing fluctuating health needs Comfortable and experienced in supporting individuals with ADHD, Fibromyalgia, and neurodiverse children Must be able to adapt to a family-centred role with varied duties
