About me A lady in her fifties living with Multiple Sclerosis needs a Personal Assistant to support her in all areas of her personal, domestic and social life, both at home and in the community. Your role is to enable her to lead an individual and independent life in her own home in Stevenage
Hours and rate of pay 09:00 to 16:00 Mon – Fri (35 hrs) with one, or possibly 2 carers, so we can be flexible. £16.00 per hour.

 

 

 

we cover the 35 hours.

Location Stevenage (SG1).
DBS/Checks Confirmation of DBS check

Right to Work and references will be needed.

Training Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:

• Safeguarding Adults

• Introduction to first aid

• Health and Safety

 

What you would be doing…  

Personal Requirements

·        Support to get in/out of bed or wheelchair

·        Support with dressing and undressing

·        Showering/bathing

·        Assistance with using the toilet

·        Assistance with hair, skin etc.

·        Physiotherapy exercises and movement of limbs as required.

·        Helping to administer medication.

 

Domestic Needs

·        General domestic duties

·        General housework, including cleaning, dusting, hoovering

·        Preparation and cooking of meals and drinks and clearing up

·        Changing of bed linen

·        Laundry and ironing

·        Shopping and/or assistance with shopping

·        Assisting me to move around my home

 

The person I would like…  

Ideally female needs to have worked with someone with severe physical disabilities.

Needs to be pro-active in terms of seeing what needs to be done and offering to do it.

 

A confident driver who is and able to push a Wheelchair and drive a Motability Vehicle, which has an automatic gearbox.

 

Needs to be reasonably ‘down to earth’ with a good sense of humour.

 

Needs to be ok with dogs.
