Hours: Part of a 24-hour team – Various shifts available
Job Description:
To be part of a 24-hour care team providing a high level of support to a young lady with complex health needs and learning difficulties, in her family home. Candidates must be compassionate and reliable.
Main duties include supporting the client with their postural management requiring skilled moving and handling to ensure they are comfortable and safe. Candidates must be aware of the young lady’s sensory needs when providing care. Observing the client to ensure they are correctly positioned and to monitor health care needs and complete documentation throughout the shift. Seizure management, personal hygiene, washing and dressing the client are all aspects of care the client needs.
Infection control and prevention is very important and candidates will be expected to follow strict hand hygiene procedures.
Experience or Qualifications:
Essential:
- Due to the personal nature of this role, the employer seeks to recruit female only staff
- Basic mandatory training
- Computer literate and able to keep clear and concise records
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Clean driving licence
- Willingness to undertake training
- 1 Years Experience in care and support of people with complex care needs and learning difficulties
- Experience with supporting people with Epilepsy
Desirable:
- NVQ level 2,3 or 4 Health & Social Care
