| About me | A kind, patient and reliable Female Personal Assistant is required to support a bright and engaging 9-year-old girl living in Harpenden, Hertfordshire (AL5).
She is autistic and has significant sensory processing differences, anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties and suspected ADHD. She enjoys creative activities including art and crafts, slime, baking, reading, maths, animals, swimming and spending time outdoors when she feels safe. Mila is affectionate and fun once she has built trust and benefits from a calm, predictable approach with clear communication and consistent routines. Some days she may prefer quiet activities at home, while on others she may enjoy accessing the community. This rewarding role involves providing one-to-one support both at home and in the community, encouraging independence, building confidence and supporting emotional wellbeing. The successful Personal Assistant will adapt activities to suit her needs and preferences on the day, recognising when quieter, low-demand support is more appropriate. |

| What you would be doing… | Building a trusting and positive relationship.
Supporting access to community activities such as parks, swimming, libraries, shopping, sensory-friendly activities and walks. Encouraging enjoyable activities at home including Lego, board games, arts and crafts and baking. Supporting emotional regulation using a calm, reassuring approach. Following sensory strategies and established routines. Encouraging independence, confidence and social development. Ensuring safety both at home and in the community. Providing respite for the family while meeting her individual needs. |
| The person I would like… | Be female (family preference).
Have experience supporting autistic or neurodivergent children. Understand sensory processing differences, anxiety and emotional regulation. Be calm, patient, kind, flexible and reliable. Be able to recognise when she is becoming overwhelmed and adapt activities accordingly. Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a reliable, insured vehicle (preferred).
