About me
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Female
Personal Assistant to support a friendly disabled woman living with her family in
Stevenage.
The successful applicant will provide support across all aspects of daily living,
enabling the individual to remain as independent as possible while enjoying a
fulfilling and active lifestyle. This is a rewarding role for someone who is patient,
compassionate and committed to delivering person-centred support.
Hours and rate of
pay
Hours: Initially 12 hours per week (with the possibility of additional hours
becoming available)
Rate of Pay: £16.00 per hour
Location
Stevenage
DBS/Checks
Confirmation of DBS check required
Right to Work documentation and references will be needed
Training
Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:
• Safeguarding
• Introduction to first aid
• Health and Safety
What you would
be doing…
Providing support with all aspects of personal and intimate care.
Assisting with daily living activities and maintaining routines.
Supporting communication and encouraging engagement with others.
Providing constant supervision, guidance and reassurance where required.
Supporting access to the local community, including shopping, cinema visits and
other leisure activities.
Encouraging participation in hobbies and social activities.

Have a positive attitude and be willing to learn the individual’s specific support
needs.
Be able to follow guidance and training provided by the family.
Be flexible and available to work evenings and weekends when required.
Hold a full, clean UK driving licence and be confident driving a Motability vehicle
when needed.
Be committed to providing high-quality, person-centred support.
Full training will be provided by the family to ensure the successful applicant
understands the individual’s needs and preferred methods of support. During the
probationary period, the successful candidate will receive full pay while
completing supervised shifts and shadowing experienced support.
This post is open to female applicants only. The requirement for a female
Personal Assistant is a genuine occupational requirement due to the provision of
personal and intimate care, in accordance with the Equality Act 2010,
Schedule 9, Part 1.
