A 20 yr old male living in Marshalswick is looking for a compassionate and
reliable Personal Assistant to support him during his weekly placement at
Earthworks, a horticultural and gardening-focused day service. He has learning
disabilities and autism and is non-verbal, though he understands and uses a few
Makaton signs.
He enjoys the outdoors, music, and physical play, and has strong gross motor
skills but finds fine motor tasks more challenging. Communication requires
patience and attentiveness, but he responds well to a familiar, consistent, and
supportive presence.
Hours and rate of
pay
Fridays, 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM (4 hours per week) to begin with. Potentially rising
to 6 hrs per week later on – £19 per hour

DBS/Checks
Confirmation of DBS check
Right to Work and references will be needed.
Training
Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:
• Safeguarding Adults/
• Introduction to first aid
• Health and Safety / Moving and handling
What you would
be doing…
Must hold a full driving licence and have access to a car with business
insurance
Comfortable providing personal care when needed
Experience supporting individuals with autism or learning disabilities is required
Ability to use or learn basic Makaton is an advantage
