About me
I am a young man and I have a neurological condition called Friedreich’s Ataxia.
It means that I am wheelchair bound and struggle with everyday activities such
as washing, dressing, preparing meals and going to the toilet. I also have limited
vocal ability however I am able to communicate and conversate well. I have full
cognitive function.
Hours and rate of
pay
Rate of Pay: £18.50 per hour – SELF-EMPLOYED
Hours: Monday to Wednesday, 3pm–9pm, with alternate weekend shifts.

What you would be
doing…
 Provide personal care, including washing, dressing and toileting.
 Support with medication as required.
 Assist with computer tasks and everyday administration.
 Support with exercise and keeping active, including swimming and going
to the gym.
 Support to maintain independence, daily routines and community
activities.
 Follow care plans, risk assessments and health and safety procedures.
 Promote safeguarding, dignity, privacy and respect at all times.
The person I would
like…
I’m looking for an active male PA to assist me. Support will include personal
care, medication, computer tasks, exercise, swimming, going to the gym,
everyday tasks, eating and drinking, going out into the community and making
sure all needs are met.
this will be a 2-1 position as my needs have changed so looking for someone
who works well in pairs.
Experience in care would be preferred but is not essential. You must have a full
UK driving licence and be able to drive a manual car. I would like a male PA who
is active, forward-thinking, confident with computers and willing to support me
with exercise, including swimming and gym sessions.
This role is exempt under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010 due to the
personal care involved, so a male PA is requested as an occupational
requirement.
