About me  

A friendly and professional 35-year-old woman is seeking to recruit a reliable, compassionate and organised Female Personal Assistant to provide support within the home and community.

Whilst the employer has a diagnosis of dyspraxia, her current support needs are also significantly influenced by her ongoing recovery from Long Covid and ME/CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). As a result, she is seeking practical and proactive support to help conserve energy, maintain independence, manage day-to-day responsibilities and continue progressing with her recovery.

The employer works full time and is looking for someone who understands the importance of balancing activity with rest, supporting fluctuating energy levels, and helping to establish sustainable routines that enable her to participate fully in work and everyday life.

 

Hours and rate of pay 10 hours per week

Working days: Monday, Wednesday and Friday

Rate of pay: To be discussed

Location Welwyn Garden City (AL7)
DBS/Checks Confirmation of DBS check required

Right to Work documentation and references will be needed

Training Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:

• Safeguarding

• Introduction to first aid

• Health and Safety

 

What you would be doing… The carer will provide practical support with:

  • Household tasks including cleaning, tidying, laundry, washing up and maintaining an organised living environment
  • Meal preparation and planning
  • Shopping, errands and accompanying the employer to appointments where required
  • Personal care support where appropriate
  • Social and community activities, including shopping trips and outings
  • Supporting organisation, planning and routine management
  • Assisting with diary and calendar management, appointment tracking and task prioritisation
  • Breaking larger tasks into manageable steps to reduce overwhelm and cognitive fatigue
  • Helping to establish and maintain systems that promote independence and energy conservation
  • Providing practical and emotional support during periods when symptoms fluctuate
  • Supporting pacing strategies and helping to balance daily responsibilities in a way that supports recovery and wellbeing

 

The person I would like… The successful applicant will:

  • Be patient, understanding, reliable and organised
  • Have a compassionate and person-centred approach
  • Understand the importance of promoting independence rather than taking over tasks
  • Have experience supporting individuals with chronic illness, invisible disabilities, neurodiversity or fluctuating health conditions, or be willing to learn
  • Be confident supporting organisation, planning, routine management and diary scheduling
  • Be able to adapt to changing needs and fluctuating energy levels
  • Be trustworthy, respectful and maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Be able to work independently and use initiative
  • Have good communication skills and a calm, encouraging manner

Requirements

  • Female PA preferred
  • Driver with access to own vehicle
  • Business insurance required
  • Previous care, support work or personal assistant experience preferred
