Support Worker – Huntingdon-PUR-635-298
Support Worker – Huntingdon
We are currently recruiting for the opportunity to join a fantastic team, supporting a man with
a learning disability in Huntingdon.
They live in their own home and enjoy a relaxed lifestyle. They love nothing more than
watching TV, relaxing in their sensory room, dozing on the sofa and spending time outdoors
in the sunshine. They also enjoy getting out and about for gentle walks and visits to local
parks. Every day is a little different – you might be baking one day, chilling out in the
sensory room or feeding ducks along the beautiful Huntingdon riverside.
The person you will support is non-verbal and communicates through their behaviour,
expressions and interactions. Building a positive relationship and understanding their
individual communication style is an important part of the role.
The person you will support requires support with all aspects of daily living, including
personal care, meal preparation, medication support, household tasks and maintaining a safe,
comfortable and well-managed home environment. Providing personal care is an essential
part of this role.
This is primarily a lone-working role. The successful applicant will be comfortable working
independently and will enjoy building a positive, trusting relationship with the person they
support. This role is about supporting a person to enjoy the things that matter to them, so the
successful applicant will be patient, relaxed in their approach and comfortable supporting a
slower-paced lifestyle.
