| About me |
A caring, patient, and understanding Female Carer is required to support a young woman with Down’s Syndrome, Autism, Epilepsy, and learning disabilities. This is a rewarding ongoing role supporting an individual with complex needs to access activities she enjoys while encouraging independence away from the family home. The client is mobile but requires support with most daily activities. She attends a day centre where she enjoys cooking, arts and crafts, listening to music, writing in her notebook, puzzles, games, and playing ball. She has a wonderful sense of humour, enjoys tactile interaction, and thrives with calm, engaging support. As the client is non-verbal, she may occasionally experience meltdowns when unable to communicate her needs. The successful PA will need to remain calm, patient, and reassuring, ensuring her safety and allowing her time and space to regulate. |
| Hours and rate of pay | Initially 9 hours per week
Increasing to 13.5 hours per week Initially Fridays: 10:30am – 3:00pm Increasing to Mondays and Fridays: 10:30am – 3:00pm Year-round role £13–£14 per hour |

| What you would be doing… | Supporting access to activities such as bowling, arts and crafts, cooking, games, puzzles, and music
Providing companionship and encouraging independence Supporting with lunch and food preparation Assisting with personal care if required, including toileting and cleaning hands/face after meals Ensuring safety and emotional reassurance during outings and activities Supporting participation within the day centre and community settings

Experience supporting individuals with Autism and/or learning disabilities preferred Willingness to provide personal care Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle insured for business use Non-smoker Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient approach The ideal candidate will be patient, observant, creative, and understanding, with the ability to remain calm under pressure. A good sense of humour, awareness of surroundings, and a gentle, reassuring nature are highly important within this role.
