A Personal Assistant is required to support a 22-year-old young man with Down’s Syndrome and associated learning disabilities, also with low muscle tone. This is a permanent part-time role that can be shared between two PAs. The young man is sociable, enjoys rock music, YouTube videos, and keeping active at the gym, and currently volunteers in Broxbourne, helping to care for local woodland.

| What you would be doing… |
Accompanying to swimming (or similar active activity) on a Monday morning (2–3 hours). Driving Kyle to EN10 on Fridays and supporting him for the day in the woods at Saplings Begins (sawing, chopping etc). This is approx. 40 minutes’ drive at 8:50am and finish 2 – 2.30 for drive home, 6-7 hours in total. Encouraging participation in activities and supporting independence. Offering patience, reassurance, and gentle motivation, particularly as he can sometimes be stubborn and is very shy. |
| Required skills and experience | A driver with a valid licence (essential).
Own car with business use insurance or able to drive the client’s Motability vehicle (must be 25+ for insurance purposes). Confident swimmer (or able to support with an active gym alternative if needed). Patient, encouraging, and reliable, with a friendly personality and a sense of humour.
