About the Direct Payment Holder A dedicated and compassionate female Personal Assistant (PA) is required to support a 7-year-old autistic child.

 

This role involves providing 1:1 support both at home and in the community, helping the child to navigate daily life, engage in learning-based play, and access local outings in a safe and supportive way.

Hours and rate of pay Term Time: 2 hours per week

School Holidays: 4 hours per week

Days: 1 day per week (to be agreed with the family) £18 per hour

 

Location Muirfield Green (WD19)
DBS/Checks Confirmation of DBS check

Right to Work and references will be needed.

Training Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:

• Safeguarding Children

• Introduction to Paediatric first aid

• Health and Safety / Moving and handling

 

What you would be doing…  

Engage the child in developmentally appropriate activities such as drawing, colouring, counting, and writing.

Support feeding routines and supervise mealtimes.

Create a calm, nurturing environment that promotes the child’s comfort and well-being.

Use appropriate strategies to support emotional regulation and manage sensory sensitivities.

Encourage communication using the child’s preferred methods (e.g., gestures, visual aids, or simple words).

Support community access such as visits to parks or other suitable local outings.

Collaborate with the family and relevant professionals to ensure consistent and personalised care.

Required skills and experience Must be a driver with access to own vehicle and business insurance.

Experience or training in special needs care is essential.

Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient, with a creative and engaging approach to supporting children.

Ability to read and respond to non-verbal cues and adapt support accordingly.

Willingness to follow routines and behaviour support strategies as directed by the family.
