About the Direct Payment Holder | A sweet and sociable young girl with Down Syndrome and global developmental delay is looking for a caring and experienced Personal Care Assistant (PA). She wears hearing aids and is under medical care for her heart. |

• Safeguarding Children • Introduction to first aid / Paediatric first aid • Health and Safety

What you would be doing… | Community Engagement: Take her out to activities like the cinema, park, swimming pool, and other social outings. Help her navigate public transport, although a car is preferred.
Support with College (starting in September): Assist with transportation to and from college (3 PM – 6 PM). Light Personal Care: While she can use the toilet and shower herself, some assistance may be needed with getting dressed, particularly with buttons and other tasks. Meal Preparation: Occasionally prepare meals, especially if the family is delayed. Light Housekeeping: Help with light cleaning tasks when necessary, although this is not a primary responsibility. School Work Support: Provide assistance with schoolwork, reading, and activities that promote learning and development. |
Required skills and experience |
Driving: A valid UK driving license is required. While driving is preferable, helping her use public transport would also be beneficial for her independence.
Experience: Previous experience working with children with special needs is essential. First aid training is highly desirable.
Flexibility: The PA must be flexible, particularly during school holidays and for occasional extended hours.
Kind and Caring: The ideal candidate will be patient, caring, and able to build a positive, supportive relationship while making school holidays and after-school time fun and engaging.
Female PA: Preference for a female assistant who has experience working with children with additional needs. This advert complies with the Sex Discrimination Act (1975) Section 7 (2b).
