We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Personal Care Assistant to provide full-time support to a 19-year-old who is non-verbal, a full-time wheelchair user, and requires hoisting for transfers. The role involves all aspects of personal care and daily assistance, along with helping to maintain an active, social lifestyle.
The ideal candidate will be someone who can provide compassionate care, has experience with similar needs, and is ready to engage in daily outings, social activities, and adventures.

DBS/Checks | Confirmation of DBS check
Right to Work and references will be needed. |
Training | Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:
• Safeguarding Adults • Introduction to first aid • Health and Safety

What you would be doing… |
Personal Care: Assistance with bathing, dressing, feeding, hygiene, and continence care
Moving and Handling: Hoist training required, as the individual cannot weight-bear and relies on a hoist for all transfers
Epilepsy Care: Must be trained (or willing to train) in epilepsy management, as occasional seizures occur
Community and Social Support: Assist with taking the individual out for activities such as walks, social events, skiing, and other outdoor or recreational activities
Driving: The PA must hold a clean, full UK driving licence to drive the family car for outings and appointments
Animal Care: Must be comfortable around animals, as the family has a pet dog

Required skills and experience | Previous experience working with individuals who have complex care needs (epilepsy, hoisting, full personal care)
Hoist and epilepsy management training or willingness to receive training
A full UK driving licence with a clean record
Flexible availability to cover around-the-clock care
Comfortable around animals, especially dogs Energetic, active, and physically fit to support daily activities and outings Must have a positive attitude and be adaptable to changing situations
