What is a Personal Health Budget?
A Personal Health Budget (PHB) is an amount of money provided directly to you, to support you to pay for your identified health and wellbeing needs. The funding for a PHB comes from the NHS, via your local Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). A PHB allows you to use your allocated NHS money in more flexible and creative ways, including employing your own personal assistants (carers), buying equipment or paying for treatments. It is about enabling you to have more choice and control about how your health needs are met.
