We know that most organisations want to do the right thing by their disabled customers and staff but just don’t know how to. Evidence from businesses, and their staff, highlights that the ongoing fear of unintentionally offending disabled professionals by using the wrong language or etiquette is the biggest concern. Whilst most businesses provide generic equality and diversity training for staff and/or disability awareness training, these rarely come together in one place.
Furthermore, 75% of disabled consumers leave a website or store due to poor accessibility or customer service. However, with better disability awareness everyone can offer excellent customer service and accessibility to all consumers.
Purple has developed a half day training programme focused on raising the awareness of disability in the workplace. The training programme is targeted at disability champions and middle managers working in the public and private sectors.
